This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of services and programs delivered as assigned by the Executive Director. The sole function of these programs is to assist homeless veterans, non-veterans, and families with children, to achieve their highest level of independence for transition to permanent housing opportunities, working mainly Monday through Friday with a possibility of some evenings and/or weekends, and on-call.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops a therapeutic milieu in accordance with the Mission and Philosophy.

  • Monitors departments progress in meeting goals and objectives.

  • Fosters and develops a relationship with VA & other veteran-specific clinical programs to increase continuity of care for veteran clients.

  • Supervises Program Team to include in delivery of services, which include but are not limited to: community service, workstations, transportation, veteran/client appointments, monitoring and/or collection of weekly class schedules for clinical team, UA/BA screenings and inventory of evaluation and monitoring supplies, housing maintenance oversight, room inspections / general monthly cleaning of client rooms, participation in daily community meetings.

  • Collaborates with the Clinical Department on all issues pertaining to client care.

  • Supervises Workforce Coordinator in performance of duties related to workforce development and job readiness for client population, supervises performance goal outcomes, and provides updates to the Executive Director.

  • Supervises and provides oversight for Facility Maintenance Team and related processes related to site maintenance and repairs.

  • Supervises the Service Center, SSVF, Outreach and other departments as assigned to ensure cohesiveness of services provided and supervises department outcomes.

  • Facilitates regular meetings with the Program Team and reports on program progress and outcomes to the Executive Director.

  • Maintains overall organizational integrity within the site and compliance with all federal and other regulations related to site safety.

  • Approves Program Team requests for purchases for submission to Operations Department.

  • Coordinates special projects as identified by the Executive Director.

  • Identifies and develops additional programs/resources at the site in conjunction with the Executive Director and in coordination with the Clinical Director and Operations Manager.

  • Provides direct service to homeless veterans and non-veterans through crisis intervention, counseling, case management, client grievance/dispute resolution, outreach, and other service activities as necessary.

  • Maintains client-owned vehicle inventory, including maintenance schedule, staff driving schedule, and ability to safely operate vehicles.

  • Oversees Food Service Operations, up to and including client food service workers, meal change orders, and meal count tracking.

  • Ensures all Program Department inventory is properly procured, received, documented, and accurately maintained.

  • Ensures site readiness related to emergency supplies and proper amount of emergency food in storage.

  • Participates in weekly Programs Conference Call facilitated by National Office designee.

  • Performs other duties as required.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.

  • Ideal candidate will possess two years experience in program management with multiple programs, staff supervision, program development, and budget management as related to Programs.

  • Demonstrated personal integrity and strong work ethic.

  • Leadership and Conflict Management skills essential.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience working with homeless veterans, non-veterans, and culturally diverse populations.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of individuals, to include clients, staff, and community stakeholders.

  • Clean driving abstract with capability to safely operate agency-owned vehicles to include a 15-passenger van.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team-approach environment.

Founded in LA more than 25 years ago, our client now has 30 residential sites and service centers across the country, with more in development. With the goal of ending veteran homelessness, they have launched prevention programs, focused on jobs and mental health, and advocate on the State and Federal level for resources to help service members transition successfully to civilian life. We will continue in our mission until no man or woman who served our country is left sleeping on its streets.
