Associate Process Engineer

Associate Process Engineer

Our client is a leading electronic manufacturing service provider specializing in cables, harnesses, and printed circuit boards.

We are seeking an Associate Process Engineer with hands-on experience in cable harnesses and PCB assembly. This role primarily focuses on process setup, documentation, and quoting labor, materials, and tooling.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop process work instructions and related documentation

  • Support sales with new business quoting

  • Analyze and interpret drawings to create accurate bills of materials

  • Build first-piece articles for new assemblies

  • Set up, operate, test, and troubleshoot assemblies and machinery

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of production orders

  • Assist in new process development for equipment and assembly stations and create corresponding documentation


Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field, or High School Diploma with relevant experience

  • IPC-610 and IPC-620 certifications are a plus

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years technician experience in an electronics manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in Excel and strong computer skills overall

  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills

  • Experience with Zuken/Rapid Harness or other wire harness design tools is a plus


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000–$85,000 (based on experience and knowledge)

Location & Hours

  • In-person role located in Rochester Hills, Michigan

  • Reports to Manufacturing Manager

  • Front office hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (with 1-hour lunch)

  • Manufacturing floor hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
