Associate Veterinarian – Small Animal Practice
Position Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 6–10 hour shifts | Occasional weekends and overtime may be required

Overview:
We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to join a growing small animal practice. This role supports a collaborative team committed to providing high-quality veterinary care in a positive, drama-free environment.
Responsibilities:
Medical
Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in small animals
Prescribe medications, perform surgeries, administer anesthesia
Inoculate animals and collect samples for testing and diagnostics
Interpret lab and imaging results (e.g., X-rays, ultrasounds)
Provide humane euthanasia services when necessary
Customer Care
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention
Answer client questions and follow up on treatment outcomes
Promote public awareness on zoonotic diseases
Documentation
Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions
Complete logs, reports, and discharge notes per practice policies
Team & Training
Provide leadership and guidance to vet techs and support staff
Participate in monthly team meetings and training sessions
Follow structured discharge and client communication procedures
Requirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
Valid Michigan veterinary license and DEA license
Ability to perform a wide range of clinical and surgical procedures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Able to function independently while also supporting a team
Ideal Fit:

This is a family-oriented, supportive team with an emphasis on collaboration and low drama. No exotic or pocket pets are treated, and emergency services are not required after hours.
