Job Title: Estimating Manager
Compensation: $123,000 – $164,207 per year

Position Overview:
A well-established construction firm is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead preconstruction estimating functions. This role is responsible for accurately assessing project costs, supporting value-based design planning, and ensuring that cost estimates align with both customer expectations and project goals. The Estimating Manager will oversee internal and external estimating teams, guide process improvements, and provide strategic insight throughout project development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead project estimating and target value design efforts from initial concept through schematic design.
  • Establish estimating formats, assign responsibilities, and compile comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Identify and communicate risks and constructability concerns to stakeholders.
  • Assist leadership with risk evaluations and resource planning to align with project cost goals.
  • Participate in engineering reviews, cost validations, and lean process implementation.
  • Support development of pursuit presentations and negotiation strategies with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and improve estimating databases and tools.
  • Ensure accurate subcontractor prequalification and database upkeep.
  • Build and maintain ethical and productive relationships with clients and partners.
  • Mentor and support growth of junior estimators and team members.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction estimating or project delivery.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Familiarity with target value design, lean principles, and risk assessment methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and estimating platforms (e.g., Vico, Autodesk Assemble, or similar).
  • LEED experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Work Environment & Requirements:
  • Primarily office-based with extended periods of computer use.
  • Occasional movement around the office or workspaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 15 lbs.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
