Job Title: Tool and Die Technician (3rd Shift)
Location: Fort Wayne, IN | On-Site
Assignment Type: Contract (6/23/2025 – 12/31/2025)
Shift: 3rd Shift | 40 hours/week | OT expected
Job Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled Tool and Die Technician to support manufacturing operations by assembling tools and building die sets used in the forging process. This position plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency, troubleshooting operational issues, and continuously improving tool performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and replace die sets in presses.
Certify die sets to print before release to production.
Prep press beds and clean/rebuild die sets to blueprint specifications.
Operate hand tools for spotting, grinding, and finishing hardened tools.
Assemble, install, and adjust automation transfer devices.
Collaborate with press operators and process teams to improve die/tool performance.
Proactively identify and resolve die or operational issues before they impact production.
Maintain tool inventories and accurate documentation in a computer-based system.
Qualifications:
Required:
1–3 years of experience with die set setups or press operations.
High School Diploma or GED.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting tool/assembly drawings.
Familiarity with calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
Knowledge of tool materials and properties.
Additional Requirements:
Drug screen and background check required prior to start.
On-site only position (no remote/hybrid options).
Must be open to overtime as needed.
