Job Title: Electrical Planner
Pay: $25–$40/hr (based on experience)

JOB SUMMARY:
A multifaceted utility and telecommunications engineering firm is looking for an Electrical Planner to join the team. This position is responsible for working effectively in a variety of computer systems and software applications while providing internal and power utility clients with utility design services and solutions needed to accurately construct overhead and underground power distribution systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Select and interpret data on a map-based platform such as ArcGIS/ESRI
Perform various field inspections of overhead/underground construction for compliance and customer standards
Advise customers and contractors on standards related to new or upgraded secondary service requirements
Write construction orders for both overhead and underground secondary jobs
Negotiate with prospective, residential, and commercial customers on behalf of the client, if requested
Participate in meetings or group discussions; provide input on products and services
Prepare proposals, presentations, and work unit policies/procedures as needed; facilitate group discussions and employee training
Understand overhead distribution and client specifications to develop appropriate design solutions
Conduct research, field visits, and support job scoping
Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent with coursework in at least three of the following: drafting/CAD, basic electricity, physics, geometry, trigonometry, or technical mathematics
Associate degree in a technical or design field preferred
Engineering Tech or related degree preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an electrical utility planning role if educational requirements are not met
Experience performing overhead/underground power distribution design preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D; experience with ESRI, ArcGIS, and MicroStation preferred
Experience with all phases of engineering document production and understanding of how drawings relate to specifications preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience
