JOB SUMMARY:
A utility design and engineering firm is seeking an experienced Civil Drafter with a background in civil or utility design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The Drafter will support clients and team members by preparing plan and profile drawings for road and utility projects. This role also involves upholding company values, meeting client needs, following through on commitments, and maintaining a positive work environment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and prepare detailed project drawings during planning and design stages

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Technicians to produce accurate drawings on schedule

  • Prepare permit drawing sets including plans, elevations, sections, details, and notes

  • Understand and apply AutoCAD standards for different clients as well as internal requirements

  • Perform QA/QC checks on drawing files to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Coordinate project timelines and deliverables with team members

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Interpret sketches, technical drawings, and project plans

  • Primarily office-based work

  • Occasional travel or fieldwork as needed


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in AutoCAD drafting or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of AutoCAD Civil experience

  • Experience with MDOT and MicroStation is a plus

  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with industry practices and regulations

  • Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office, and Outlook

  • Compensation based on experience
