JOB SUMMARY:
A multifaceted utility and telecommunications engineering firm is seeking a Project Surveyor to join the team. The Project Surveyor will be involved in collecting and analyzing data to support engineering projects, ensuring accurate, compliant, and effective designs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct field surveys to measure and map land using surveying instruments to establish precise control points and reference systems

  • Collect accurate measurements, coordinates, elevations, distances, and angles to define land boundaries and features

  • Perform topographic surveys to map natural and man-made land features including contours, vegetation, utilities, and structures

  • Analyze survey data and create detailed maps and plans using GIS and CAD software

  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to support planning and design efforts

  • Research land records, property titles, and legal restrictions

  • Ensure compliance with relevant surveying standards, regulations, and safety protocols

  • Communicate with clients, engineers, and contractors to clarify requirements and resolve survey-related issues

  • Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments to ensure accuracy

  • Adhere to field safety and ethical surveying practices

  • Stay current with trends and technologies in the surveying industry


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in surveying or a related role

  • Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment, and software

  • Experience in land survey laws, regulations, and practices

  • Proficiency with total stations, GPS receivers, laser scanners, and CAD software

  • Solid understanding of survey calculations, geodesy, and coordinate systems

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills; attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Compensation based on experience
