JOB SUMMARY:
A multifaceted utility and telecommunications engineering firm is seeking a Project Surveyor to join the team. The Project Surveyor will be involved in collecting and analyzing data to support engineering projects, ensuring accurate, compliant, and effective designs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct field surveys to measure and map land using surveying instruments to establish precise control points and reference systems
Collect accurate measurements, coordinates, elevations, distances, and angles to define land boundaries and features
Perform topographic surveys to map natural and man-made land features including contours, vegetation, utilities, and structures
Analyze survey data and create detailed maps and plans using GIS and CAD software
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to support planning and design efforts
Research land records, property titles, and legal restrictions
Ensure compliance with relevant surveying standards, regulations, and safety protocols
Communicate with clients, engineers, and contractors to clarify requirements and resolve survey-related issues
Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments to ensure accuracy
Adhere to field safety and ethical surveying practices
Stay current with trends and technologies in the surveying industry
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in surveying or a related role
Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, equipment, and software
Experience in land survey laws, regulations, and practices
Proficiency with total stations, GPS receivers, laser scanners, and CAD software
Solid understanding of survey calculations, geodesy, and coordinate systems
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills; attention to detail
Ability to work independently and within a team
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
