Maintenance Technician Assistant

Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Pay: $18 - $20/hour + 15% Shift Premium
Job Type: Full-Time


About the Role:

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Assistant to support machine, building, and general maintenance operations. This position works directly with Maintenance Technicians and production teams to ensure equipment reliability and overall plant efficiency.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of building, presses, and equipment

  • Operate forklifts and man lifts as needed

  • Support team goals in assembly and press departments

  • Participate in press setups and continuous improvement efforts

  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety standards

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and corrective actions on assigned equipment

  • Follow all maintenance documentation and systems procedures (PM logs, work orders, downtime tracking)

  • Serve as wastewater handler after completing appropriate training

  • Apply and promote Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Participate in Elimination of Waste Team meetings

  • Take direction from Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, and Production Leaders as needed

  • Support company goals and perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Some college or technical training in mechanical, industrial, or electrical maintenance preferred

  • 2 years of experience in a plant or manufacturing maintenance setting preferred

  • Basic knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNCs, washers, and automation equipment

  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and machinery

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)

  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 standards is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions


Working Conditions:

  • Regular lifting (up to 80 lbs), bending, standing, and repetitive movements

  • Some ladder work required

  • Continuous exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment

  • Must be available for overtime as required
