Job Title: Test Engineer – Automotive
Type: Full-Time
Salary: $85,000 – $110,000/year

Overview:
We are seeking a Test Engineer to work closely with global Mechanical Engineering and Software Development teams to develop new electro-mechanical automotive products. This role involves designing, testing, and maintaining motor control systems and interfacing with customers to support product development and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute and support daily testing across all project development phases: design, prototype, DV, PV, warranty, and production.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage testing projects to ensure high-quality results and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, follow, and improve test procedures and standard work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch and improve products.
  • Develop or use computer software and hardware for testing machinery and equipment.
  • Prepare recommendations and documentation for product design through initial production.
  • Analyze and interpret test data; prepare high-level technical reports for engineering and management.
  • Ensure equipment and software are maintained and calibrated for accurate testing.
  • Develop automated test scripts tailored to in-house and customer requirements.
  • Lead lab testing to verify and validate design concepts for function, reliability, and durability.
  • Support customer interface activities and represent the organization professionally.
  • Assist plant Quality and Manufacturing teams with design deviations and improvement requests.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain electrical products, systems, and equipment.
  • Prepare project specifications, requisitions, engineering designs, and timelines.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience with automotive electro-mechanical systems.
  • Proficient with LabView, PLC programming, LIN/CAN protocols, and lab debug equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Experience with general office tools, including Office 365 and Project.
  • Knowledge of automotive test and validation processes.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk up to 10 hours/day; occasional stair climbing.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds routinely, 30 pounds frequently.
  • Use hands repetitively to grasp, lift, handle, and carry objects.
  • Vision: 20/40 in each eye, with or without correction.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height and below waist frequently; stoop, kneel, bend routinely.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing).
