Quality Engineer - Plastics

Job Title: Quality Engineer – Plastics
Employment Type: 90-Day Contract-to-Hire

Overview:
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to support quality systems, drive continuous improvement, and ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements within a plastics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems and processes within the plastics department.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.

  • Conduct inspections, internal audits, and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality concerns and improve processes.

  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

  • Support new product launches and ensure adherence to specifications and quality requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including quality reports, work instructions, and SOPs.

  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of quality engineering experience, ideally within plastics or manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and root cause analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.

  • Analytical abilities with attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
