CMM Programmer / Operator / Inspector

Location: Mount Clemens, MI
Pay: $20–$30/hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: 90-day contract-to-hire

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Operator / Inspector to support quality inspection and measurement activities in a job shop environment. This role is responsible for programming and operating CMM equipment, performing manual inspections, and ensuring parts meet customer and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Program, operate, and inspect parts using Zeiss CMM equipment

  • Utilize Calypso software (or similar CMM software)

  • Perform manual inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other hand-measuring tools

  • Inspect a wide variety of parts in a job shop environment

  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and inspection requirements

  • Document inspection results and communicate findings with production and quality teams

  • Maintain inspection equipment and follow quality procedures

  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience programming and operating CMMs (Zeiss preferred)

  • Experience with Calypso software or comparable CMM software

  • Strong background in manual inspection techniques

  • Job shop inspection experience preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

  • High attention to detail and quality standards
