Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Milling Manager to lead milling operations within a high-precision aerospace and automotive tooling environment. This role oversees people, processes, and equipment to ensure quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery of complex, tight-tolerance components. The ideal candidate brings hands-on machining knowledge, leadership experience, and expertise in multi-axis CNC milling.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily milling department operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow
Oversee CNC milling programming, setup, and production for aerospace and automotive tooling
Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cycle time reduction, and quality
Support complex machining projects involving tight tolerances and advanced materials
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on new tooling programs and process improvements
Review NC programs and maintain proper documentation and revision control
Mentor and develop machinists, programmers, and team leads
Monitor machine utilization, tooling performance, and preventive maintenance needs
Required Qualifications
Leadership experience in a CNC milling or machining environment
Background in aerospace and/or automotive tooling
NC software experience (required)
5-axis milling experience (required)
Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
Ability to manage production priorities, deadlines, and personnel
Technical Skills
CNC milling operations and programming
