Job Title: Material Handler
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Day Shift

Position Overview
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring all production equipment is supplied with the proper materials to support manufacturing. This includes retrieving materials throughout the plant, mixing materials and colorants, maintaining hopper levels, and ensuring FIFO (First In, First Out) and accurate material identification standards are followed.
Strong organizational skills, forklift experience, and excellent attendance are critical to success in this role. You will also provide excellent service to both internal and external customers while supporting all operational processes and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Load, unload, and move materials within the plant to support manufacturing
Retrieve and stage materials as needed for production
Communicate with the Shift Supervisor regarding pending mold and color changes
Record start and finish times on work orders
Maintain material levels in supply hoppers, shot hoppers, and dye loaders
Complete color and resin changes as required
Operate material mixers to combine materials and colorants according to formula
Maintain proper regrind ratios and mix virgin and regrind materials appropriately
Empty grinder drawers regularly and clean grinders as required
Check material levels in hoppers and gaylords; refill as necessary
Pre-dry materials as needed and schedule drying times
Operate material dryers and ensure they are functioning properly
Ensure vacuum systems are effectively loading materials into hoppers
During job changes:
Ensure all grinding from the previous job is completed
Clean grinders, hoppers, and dryer filters
Set up auxiliary equipment
Blow off material from press
Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with company guidelines
Assist Shift Supervisors, Quality Inspectors, Operators, and Die Setters as needed
Communicate and coordinate manufacturing requirements across shifts
Provide support to other Manufacturing Floor Associates as required
Occasionally travel to another building on the same street
Qualifications
Previous material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Forklift experience required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to follow formulas and manufacturing procedures
Excellent attendance and reliability
Strong communication skills
Highly motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude
