Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled PCBA Technician to support the operation and performance of SMT and post-SMT manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment, assisting with repairs, developing machine programs, and creating process documentation to ensure efficient production. The ideal candidate will monitor manufacturing processes, maintain high product quality, and help minimize equipment downtime in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create programs, work instructions, and parameter sheets for assigned SMT and post-SMT equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and perform equipment repairs in collaboration with maintenance teams.

  • Update pick-and-place component and package parameters to maintain high yields and minimize downtime.

  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operation and implement productivity improvements without impacting product quality.

  • Inspect PCBA components and assemblies against drawings and specifications to verify compliance with design requirements.

  • Troubleshoot electrical circuitry and resolve or escalate technical concerns as needed.

  • Support process optimization and equipment reliability initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in manufacturing, mechanical, software, or electrical/electronic engineering technology, or 1–2 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Experience with manufacturing processes in an electronics or production environment.

  • Strong computer and software aptitude.

  • Ability to quickly learn and operate advanced manufacturing systems.

  • Understanding of how process changes impact manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.

  • Ability to program and understand the fundamentals of equipment including:

    • Board handling systems

    • Laser etching equipment

    • Screen printing equipment

    • Placement equipment

    • Solder reflow systems

    • Inspection equipment

    • Wave solder equipment (including profiling)

    • Selective solder equipment

    • Pin insertion equipment

    • PCB routers (mechanical, laser, punch, and v-score)

  • Understanding of PCBA process consumables including solder paste, solder wire (lead-free and lead), flux, chip bonder materials, and cleaning agents.

Preferred:

  • Additional experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing environments.

  • Hands-on experience programming SMT or post-SMT equipment.

  • Familiarity with process improvement and yield optimization within PCBA production lines.
