Electronics Assembly (Operator C)

Job Title: Operator C – Electronics Assembly

Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shifts Available:

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Role Summary

We are seeking detail-oriented Operator C candidates to join our electronics assembly team. This role focuses on soldering small electronic components—including circuits, transformers, sockets, and other parts—while maintaining IPC 610 standards. The ideal candidate has excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track machine performance and communicate issues to management promptly.

  • Interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure product quality.

  • Navigate company procedures and shop floor controls.

  • Follow practices to maintain ISO compliance.

  • Replace damaged, missing, or misplaced components using hand soldering operations.

  • Mount components such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on panels or printed circuit boards.

  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of the rework area.

  • Ensure frequency and temperature tolerances meet customer specifications.

  • Report non-conformance or deviations from quality standards.

  • Work with small components including SMT, Thru-Hole, and Etch Caps using microscopes.

  • Fill in roles of Operator A & B as needed, performing all aspects of their responsibilities.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications / Requirements

Required:

  • Familiarity with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components.

  • Ability to clean boards and perform basic soldering/rework of SMT and Thru-Hole components.

  • Knowledge of IPC 610/7711 standards and ability to meet customer specifications.

  • Proficiency with hand tools: screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.

  • Ability to perform visual inspections of SMT assemblies.

  • Strong dexterity and exposure to heat while soldering.

  • Housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean work environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication with team and management.

  • Analytical skills to read, interpret, and resolve defects.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • 3–5 years of experience as an SMT Operator or Rework Operator.

  • IPC certification or prior certification.

Physical / Occupational Exposures

  • Repetitive hand and finger movements, and reaching with hands/arms.

  • Frequent lifting: 1–10 lbs; occasional lifting: 10–25 lbs; rare lifting: up to 50 lbs.

  • Twisting at the waist as needed.

  • Exposure to soldering paste, hot irons, solder pots, and related chemicals.
