Job Title: Tool & Die Repair Technician
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $27–$32/hour (based on experience)
Shift:
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (15% shift premium)
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (shift premium offered)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Repair Technician to support metal stamping operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining dies to ensure optimal production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain transfer and line dies (in-press and offline)
Operate tool room equipment and machinery with precision
Support press setup and production efficiency to meet output goals
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Maintain product quality to print specifications
Interpret CMM and gaging data to adjust tooling as needed
Follow all safety procedures and protocols
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen)
Support environmental responsibilities, including wastewater handling (with training)
Work overtime as needed to meet production demands
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in:
Metal stamping
Tool & die build or repair
Prototype tooling
Ability to read and interpret:
Blueprints
GD&T
Die details and part prints
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience working with CMM data and precision measurement tools
Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
Comfortable using computers and production control systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
High School Diploma or GED required
Technical or trade school training preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs regularly
Capable of standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks
Comfortable working in a noisy manufacturing environment
