Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Pay: $24–$29/hr + 15% shift premium
Type: (Contract-to-Hire)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for a contract-to-hire opportunity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting equipment reliability, building maintenance, and production uptime across stamping presses, automation systems, and related plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform repair and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, presses, automation systems, and facility infrastructure 
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems 
  • Operate forklifts and man lifts as needed 
  • Support press setup activities and contribute to reducing setup time through teamwork and continuous improvement 
  • Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safe work practices 
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks, corrective repairs, and equipment improvements per maintenance schedules 
  • Accurately document downtime, work orders, and maintenance activities following established procedures 
  • Support wastewater handling duties after required training 
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and waste reduction efforts 
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance leadership to support operational goals 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Strong knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNC machines, washers, and automated equipment 
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and mechanical troubleshooting 
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication schematics 
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and diagrams 
  • Welding experience (MIG and/or ARC) and torch cutting experience 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Familiarity with quality and compliance systems (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, or similar preferred) 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs frequently 
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion 
  • Occasional ladder use for facility maintenance 
  • Manufacturing environment with continuous noise exposure 
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required
