Position Overview

We are currently seeking three dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our public charter school team. We have one opening at the Elementary School level, one at the Middle School level, and one at the High School level.

In this role, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities while fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, independence, and personal growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students reach their full potential through collaboration, creativity, and evidence-based instructional practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). 
  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with each student's academic and functional needs. 
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities. 
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success. 
  • Monitor student progress and utilize data to guide instructional decisions. 
  • Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and records. 
  • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress with families. 
  • Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques. 
  • Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. 
  • Utilize accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology to maximize student learning. 
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and Michigan special education regulations. 
  • Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. 
  • Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement. (or willing to obtain)
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). 
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Michigan special education regulations. 
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills. 
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
