Position Overview

We are seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team in Corunna, MI. This position is responsible for operating CNC lathes to produce quality parts while maintaining accurate dimensions, following blueprints and specifications, and meeting daily production requirements.

The ideal candidate will have CNC lathe experience along with hands-on experience operating manual machining equipment such as lathes and grinders. A strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently are important for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes to machine metal components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, symbols, and dimensional specifications.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machining tools and equipment.
  • Use measuring instruments and tools to verify dimensions and part quality.
  • Perform basic adjustments and make necessary corrections during machining operations.
  • Operate manual equipment, including manual lathes and grinders, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate work and ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Identify machining or quality issues and communicate problems appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow established safety procedures and industry best practices.
  • Work effectively with team members to meet production and project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous CNC lathe operating experience required.
  • Experience with manual lathes and grinders strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, symbols, and specifications.
  • Strong basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measuring equipment, and machining tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic steel welding skills are a plus.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
