Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support production and maintenance operations with a focus on CNC machining support, programming, tooling, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

The CNC Programmer will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to improve machining processes, support new product launches, maintain CNC programs and tooling, and help optimize machine capabilities and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote Lean Manufacturing principles 
  • Participate in Elimination of Waste Team meetings 
  • Support company production goals and objectives 
  • Collaborate with Engineering to write and update operator instructions 
  • Train team leaders on CNC setup, program repairs, tooling, and machine troubleshooting 
  • Modify CNC programs and implement tooling improvements 
  • Investigate and implement CNC machining process improvements to optimize machine capability and efficiency 
  • Support production and assembly department goals 
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and equipment 
  • Lead preventative maintenance tasks, corrective actions, and equipment improvements within assembly operations 
  • Support new product launches from setup through first-off production in coordination with Engineering and Maintenance 
  • Support Engineering with tooling and work-holding requirements during APQP 
  • Replace or repair damaged tooling and work-holding equipment for CNC machines 
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safe work practices 
  • Utilize computers, printers, calculators, machinery control panels, and related equipment 
  • Perform wastewater handling duties after completing required training 
  • Support production readiness activities 

Qualifications

  • CNC programming experience, including program modifications 
  • Experience with CNC tooling improvements and troubleshooting 
  • Working knowledge of CNC machine control panels 
  • Ability to troubleshoot CNC machines, programs, tooling, and work-holding 
  • Experience supporting CNC setups and new product launches preferred 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles 
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria 
  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Technical trade or manufacturing education preferred 
  • Some college education preferred 
  • Ability to work independently and support production, engineering, and maintenance teams 
  • Detail-oriented approach to programming, tooling, troubleshooting, and process improvement
