Assistant Bookkeeper

Pay: $20.00–$25.00/hour, based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Bookkeeper to assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, strong knowledge of GAAP, and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and financial operations. 
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and general ledger entries. 
  • Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees. 
  • Prepare payroll using ZUMA. 
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. 
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. 
  • Assist with the preparation of tax documents and support tax compliance activities. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion when handling sensitive data. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on the needs of the organization. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). 
  • Proficient in journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial report writing. 
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance. 
  • Experience with ZUMA payroll preparation. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. 
  • Proficient in 10-key typing for efficient data entry.
