Quality Technician (Mold Injection)

Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay: $22.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Technician to support quality assurance operations in an injection molding manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience performing mechanical inspections, using precision measuring equipment, and maintaining accurate quality documentation in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, inspection manuals, and technical documentation.
- Create inspection criteria and check sheets for incoming materials and products.
- Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Record inspection results, measurements, and quality data accurately.
- Identify, document, and process nonconforming materials according to company procedures.
- Communicate inspection results and recommend corrective actions when quality issues are identified.
- Verify finished products and assemblies meet dimensional and functional requirements.
- Maintain and monitor calibrated inspection and measuring equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and company quality standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection or mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in an injection molding or plastics manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with injection molded plastic components.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and calibration procedures.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
- Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and identify product defects.
Work Environment
This position works in an injection molding manufacturing environment where exposure to production equipment, machinery, noise, and industrial materials is common. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
