Cold Forming Header Operator – Nights
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site | Direct Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift, starting at 5PM
Training: Training provided before transitioning into the position
Position Summary
We are looking for a hands-on, dependable problem solver to operate and set up cold forming/header machines. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, getting dirty, figuring out problems, and learning new skills.
The right person does not need to know everything on day one. Training will be provided, with the expectation that you will learn to eventually set up and operate the machines independently.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cold forming/header machines with training.
- Learn to perform machine setups independently.
- Load and feed material and adjust machine settings and tooling.
- Monitor machines and troubleshoot issues during production.
- Make adjustments to keep machines running properly and parts within specifications.
- Perform basic quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Read and understand part prints, tool layouts, and progression sheets.
- Document quality measurements and production information.
- Assist with tooling changes, repairs, and maintenance.
- Use forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
What We're Looking For
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are extremely important.
- Someone who enjoys problem-solving and hands-on work.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and getting dirty.
- Not afraid to make mistakes, learn from them, and try again.
- Willing to be trained and learn how to set up machines independently.
- Comfortable working with tools and machinery.
- Able to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Basic ability to read measurements and understand production documentation.
- Someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and shows up every day ready to work.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is not afraid of failure, willing to learn, and enjoys figuring things out. This is a hands-on position where you will be trained to become a machine setup operator, so attitude, reliability, and the ability to learn are just as important as previous experience.
