Job Title: Quality Inspector – Plastic Injection Molding
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift
Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour | Contract-to-Hire

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support plastic injection molding manufacturing operations. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for candidates looking to grow within a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with plastic part inspection, blueprint reading, quality documentation, and visual/dimensional inspection standards within a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders, inspection instructions, blueprints, and part specifications to determine inspection requirements 
  • Inspect raw materials, molded plastic components, in-process production, and finished products for conformance to quality standards 
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools 
  • Verify molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warping, discoloration, and cosmetic imperfections 
  • Record inspection data and compare results against engineering drawings, control plans, and customer specifications 
  • Identify, tag, and document non-conforming materials or products 
  • Support first-piece, in-process, and final inspections during production runs 
  • Communicate inspection findings with production operators, technicians, and supervisors 
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality records and inspection reports 
  • Assist with corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Follow all company quality procedures, safety standards, and work instructions 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in plastic injection molding or manufacturing environments 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and inspection criteria 
  • Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and go/no-go gauges 
  • Familiarity with plastic molded part defects and visual inspection standards preferred 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook 
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work within a team environment
