Position Responsibilities:
Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers, Auditors, Process Engineers, Maintenance Employees, Planners, Logistics, etc. in order to define corrective actions and investigate for continuous improvement efforts
Participate in all aspects of simultaneous engineering efforts for new projects (e.g., APQP, QR83) Generate, prepare, and present regular reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
Interpret bevel gear prints including dimensions, tolerances and specifications.
Generate RB bevel gear drawings within AutoCad, 2D & 3D format.
Provide layout information to design department for generating RDU and FDU bevel gear drawings. Investigate and resolve issues associated with non-conforming bevel gear sets from vehicle testing or customer returns.
Lead 8D investigations or similar corrective action processes derived from product and process audits, from internal quality investigations, or customer complaints.
Daily review of assembly and manufacturing data to identify trending before rejects occur.
Train both salary (production and process engineers) and hourly (team leaders and members) in the tooth topography operations of bevel gear machining.
Perform capability studies as required within manufacturing.
Maintaining tooth topography summaries from the CNC operations and CMM files from the CMM machines.
Perform related tasks as needed
Ability to design bevel gear sets with Gleason (Cage/Gage) and/or Klingenberg (Komet/KlMoS) software.
