Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Detroit, MI
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Based on experience

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support new product development, process improvement, and ongoing production activities. This role works closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure products meet all customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new product and process development using quality engineering methods

  • Manage multiple quality projects during product development, launch, and production

  • Ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements

  • Interface directly with customers on quality-related activities and concerns

  • Assist with plant-level quality initiatives, customer issues, supplier issues, and corrective actions

  • Manage quality aspects of assigned product lines and manufacturing processes

  • Participate in development projects to ensure products and processes meet requirements

  • Communicate significant quality issues and recommend process improvements

  • Lead and participate in Corrective Action and Preventive Action efforts

  • Review and disposition non-conforming materials and components

  • Participate in audits and assessments; recommend and support corrective actions

  • Train associates on product characteristics and quality awareness

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GD&T

  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and structured problem solving

  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and Launch processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project

  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in a CNC production machining and assembly environment

  • Understanding of CNC machining operations

  • Ability to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards
