JOB SUMMARY:
A Livonia-based engineering firm is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to join their team. This role involves establishing and maintaining robust quality management systems (QMS) to ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards. Responsibilities include implementing inspections, conducting design reviews, fostering continuous improvement, and promoting a culture of compliance and excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain QMS aligned with industry standards and client requirements.
- Define measurable quality standards based on project objectives and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct design reviews to identify and address potential issues before delivery.
- Perform inspections and testing throughout project lifecycles, addressing deviations promptly.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D.
- Monitor and report key quality metrics, including process efficiency and defect rates.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Engage clients and stakeholders in the quality management process to ensure alignment.
- Provide team training on quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO and related frameworks.
- Manage quality planning activities, including risk management and compliance reviews.
- Maintain documentation and records of quality inspections, corrective actions, and compliance reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to address quality concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of quality control or quality assurance experience in telecommunications or utilities.
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, such as SPC, MSA, and FMEA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis experience.
- Familiarity with design tools like AutoCAD or similar software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Experience with QMS in utilities and telecommunications sectors.
- Certifications in FMEA, SPC, or MSA.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred).
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Primarily office-based with some travel to project sites as needed.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and project specifications.
