Maintenance Technician Assistant – Second Shift

Maintenance Technician Assistant 

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Assistant to support machine, building, and general maintenance functions. This position works closely with the Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operations across the facility.
Shift: Second Shift (3PM – 11PM) with a 15% shift premium.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in Elimination of Waste Team meetings.
  • Support company goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of building, presses, and equipment.
  • Operate forklifts and man lifts as needed.
  • Support assembly and press department goals.
  • Participate in press set-ups and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, corrective actions, and improvements to assigned equipment.
  • Adhere to maintenance documentation procedures, including preventive maintenance logs and work order processes.
  • Handle wastewater responsibilities after completing required training.
  • May receive direction from Production Supervisors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some college or technical education in skilled trades, mechanical, industrial, or electrical maintenance preferred.
  • Two years of experience in plant maintenance preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNCs, washers, assembly machines, automation, and related equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work on machinery and related systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance standards.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Must work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds frequently.
  • Work involves extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motions.
  • Occasional ladder use to service lights and ceiling fans.
  • Manufacturing environment with continuous noise exposure.
  • Must be available for necessary overtime as required.
