Maintenance Technician Assistant
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician Assistant to support machine, building, and general maintenance functions. This position works closely with the Maintenance Technician to ensure smooth operations across the facility.
Shift: Second Shift (3PM – 11PM) with a 15% shift premium.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply and promote Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Participate in Elimination of Waste Team meetings.
- Support company goals and objectives.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of building, presses, and equipment.
- Operate forklifts and man lifts as needed.
- Support assembly and press department goals.
- Participate in press set-ups and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety practices.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, corrective actions, and improvements to assigned equipment.
- Adhere to maintenance documentation procedures, including preventive maintenance logs and work order processes.
- Handle wastewater responsibilities after completing required training.
- May receive direction from Production Supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some college or technical education in skilled trades, mechanical, industrial, or electrical maintenance preferred.
- Two years of experience in plant maintenance preferred.
- Basic knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNCs, washers, assembly machines, automation, and related equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work on machinery and related systems.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance standards.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Must work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent manual dexterity with the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds frequently.
- Work involves extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motions.
- Occasional ladder use to service lights and ceiling fans.
- Manufacturing environment with continuous noise exposure.
- Must be available for necessary overtime as required.
