Controls Technician – 2nd Shift
$26.00 – $38.00 per hour
Full-Time | 2nd Shift

We are seeking an experienced Controls Technician to support our 2nd shift manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled production equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

  • Maintain and repair industrial production equipment including assembly cells, conveyors, robots, and test stands

  • Diagnose equipment issues using HMI and PLC systems (Allen Bradley RS Logix 500 & 5000)

  • Perform PLC and robot programming and troubleshooting

  • Install and wire control panels for new equipment

  • Replace faulty components such as relays, switches, motors, sensors, and drives

  • Perform preventative maintenance according to schedule

  • Start and test machinery to verify performance

  • Follow Lockout/Tagout safety procedures

  • Initiate purchase requisitions for parts and assist with facility maintenance as needed

  • Collaborate with maintenance mechanics, electricians, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Advanced training or experience in:

    • PLC programming (Allen Bradley RS Logix 500 & 5000)

    • Robotics

    • Electrical systems

    • Hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Experience writing basic reports and documentation

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in a manufacturing or automated production environment required

Preferred Skills

  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) – Required

  • Robot programming and diagnostics

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Report writing and documentation
