VP - Real Estate Lending

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The VP of Real Estate Lending directs and controls all real estate lending activities within the financial institution.
  • Participates in strategic planning and the development of credit union real estate policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Ensures maximum profitability of lending activities that are in the best interest of the member.
  • The VP of Real Estate Lending will also support and lead the development of a small business loan program for the membership of the financial institutions.
  • You will set the real estate department's strategic plan to align with the financial institutions business plan and establish and ensure the implantation of target goals for the department.
  • Communicate financial institutions goals and direction with all employees to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements, and expectations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with financial institutions goals and strategies.
  • Work with other departments to maintain consistency in financial institutions policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and monitor the real estate loan functions to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Direct the work of managers in all lending areas to include underwriting, loan processing, loan documentation, and approval or denial of mortgage loans.
  • Oversee the development and monitoring of performance standards.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, or training to support and develop managers and staff.
  • Research and evaluate the feasibility of new lending products.
  • Develop and implement plans for expansion of lending programs.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends in lending and react to changes in a way that maintains competitiveness.
  • Oversee the development of a small business loan program, providing members access to funds for the purpose of supporting and growing their small businesses.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A VP OF REAL ESTATE LENDING

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Eight to ten years of relevant experience at a Vice President level or higher is preferred 
  • Understanding of small business loan financing with relevant experience preferred
