PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing production components, equipment, goods, services, and managing vendors. They will perform strategic procurement activities across multiple Locations, categories of spend, search for better deals and find more competitive suppliers. Also, responsible for oversight of spending on Plant Services, maintenance & repairs, purchasing policies and strategies of the organization, including the identification of opportunities for operational improvements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
Execute purchasing strategies across the operations.
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements are documented
Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier leverage
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking the interior supply base
Assess, manage and mitigate risks
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge/Skill/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree and diploma (or equivalent credentials) in supply chain management or business administration
Proven working experience in Procurement (5-10 years of experience).
Experienced with sourcing and vendor management and proven negotiating skills
Interest in market dynamics along with business sense; a knack for negotiation and networking
Working experience of vendor management software
Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures, solid judgement along with decision making skills
Track record of business acumen, including working in the automotive space with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier
