Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Pay: $120,000–$140,000 per year

A well-established global automotive supplier is seeking an experienced and driven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead operations at a new, state-of-the-art technical center and manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, motivated team focused on innovation in powertrain and electric vehicle components.

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading all manufacturing engineering and maintenance functions. You’ll oversee a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. A key part of the role includes managing the maintenance department and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, safety, and quality

• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate new products and technologies into manufacturing

• Evaluate and improve existing processes using lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices

• Track manufacturing KPIs such as cycle time, scrap rates, and equipment uptime

• Oversee preventive maintenance and repair for all production equipment

• Work closely with equipment vendors during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

• Manage vendor relationships and technical resources

• Control and manage the engineering and maintenance budgets

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s a plus)

• At least 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry

• Experience managing maintenance teams, systems, and preventive maintenance programs in a manufacturing environment

• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes for powertrain and electric vehicle components

• Skilled in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement techniques

• Proven leadership in managing teams and cross-functional project execution

• Strong analytical, communication, and project management abilities

• Experience with CAD and manufacturing software

• Knowledge of automotive industry standards and safety protocols
