Account Manager (Welding Systems)

We are seeking a strategic and results oriented Account Manager with a technical background to manage Welding System Sales in our Shelby Township headquarters.  Examples of welding systems include: • MIG Welding: Frames, cradles, control arms, bumpers, trailer hitches, etc. • Resistance Welding: Under body assemblies including wheelhouses, side rails, cross members, floor pans, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Establishes and maintains great relationships with current and future Tier I customers (Magna, Metalsa, Martinrea, ….)
• Coordinates and prioritizes work within specific team of weld systems and welding equipment estimators and processing engineers
• Increase revenues and profitability of welding systems.
• Develop and maintain top level decision maker relationships at target customers.
•Manage commercial discussions and negotiations including costing, scope of work, timing, payment terms, warranty, etc.
• Oversee all activities of the processing and estimating within welding system department.
• Review and approve all processes, quotes, and technical proposals prior to submittal to customer.
• Work with marketing department to develop literature, videos and sales tools for welding team.
• Coordinate the development and issuance of the SOR and RFQ to the supply chain as needed.
• Effectively work with Engineering and Project Management departments to ensure customer requirements are achieved while ensuring the final deliverables are aligned with proposals within a timely manner. Requirements:
• Technical background: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with weld automation, custom design, and build systems
• Must have knowledge of automation and robotic welding processes
• Must have welding system experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or sales role
• Proven track record of strategic selling and managing negotiations
• Prior experience in effectively leading a team of employees
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Team-oriented Position Details:
• Travel up to 20% approximately
