Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:
A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a direct hire opportunity to engage in the design, analysis, and oversight of natural gas projects. This role encompasses a range of engineering functions related to natural gas infrastructure and requires close collaboration with project teams to ensure safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop natural gas infrastructure, including pipelines, pressure control systems, and compressor stations.
  • Conduct analysis on pipeline stress, flow rates, and gas distribution for optimal efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure design compliance with federal and state regulations, including ASME and API standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams throughout project phases.
  • Oversee field inspections and maintenance activities to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Use modeling software such as AutoCAD and ANSYS for design creation and simulation.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates for projects.
  • Participate in meetings with regulatory agencies, utility representatives, and local stakeholders.
  • Develop and review engineering designs across multiple projects.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 2-4 years of mechanical engineering experience, with a preference for experience in natural gas facilities design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Plant 3D and Civil 3D preferred.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS is beneficial.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Interpret sketches, drawings, and building plans.
  • Primarily office-based role with occasional travel or fieldwork as needed.
