Senior 5-Axis CNC Programmer

Duties and Responsibilities

· Generate CNC Programs using the latest version of Mastercam

· Generate cutter paths to efficiently machine a wide array of components – from solid, casting, forging, extrusion, weldments

· Select correct cutting tools based on materials, setup conditions, and apply correct cutting data

· Understand and execute correct process sequence and allowances to yield conforming hardware

· When applicable, follow engineering processes as supplied by the Process Engineering department

· Verify cutter paths for crashes prior to issuing programs to plant floor

· Prove-Out new programs at machine, with minimal operator assistance

· Edit programs for internal process improvements, optimization and customer design changes

· Create and edit tools sheets and set-up documents within Mastercam

· Design and add geometry to existing/supplied customer CAD models as required

· Assist in quoting and estimating by contributing cycle time/run time estimations

· Provide accurate and timely status updates

· Maintain CAM files and CNC programs per AS9100D software control and industry standards

· Deliver CNC programs and associated documentation from network storage to shop floor in a timely manner to support manufacturing operations

· Prioritize and manage workload based on shop schedules


· Minimum 5 years MasterCam programming experience milling Aerospace components

· Minimum 10 years MasterCam programming experience

· 3+2 simultaneous 5-axis mill programming experience using MasterCam required

· Demonstrated proficiency with GD&T required

· Experience with Vericut a PLUS

· Experience generating 3D models from 2D drawings a PLUS

· Programming experience using Mazatrol a PLUS

· Ability to work independently, and occasional overtime as required
